DETAILED INFORMATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS OF SUB-INSPECTOR/LADY SUB-INSPECTOR (UN-ARMED) AND SUB-INSPECTOR (ARMED BRANCH) IN WEST BENGAL POLICE THROUGH LIMITED DEPARTMENTAL EXAMINATION.

Age Limit: The candidates must not be more than 35 years as on 01/01/2015 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1980).
Qualification: A degree of a recognized university or its equivalent.
Eligibility:The candidates shall be from amongst the Constables and the Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Police of West Bengal Police and Havildar / Naik/ Lance Naik and Rifleman of E.F.R. Bns having minimum 3 (three) years of satisfactory service as on 01/01/2015. However, the Police Drivers and Wireless Operators of West Bengal Police and Police Drivers of EFR Battalions are NOT eligible to apply for the post. Candidates having pending departmental proceedings, currency of punishment and pending criminal / vigilance case will not be eligible to apply.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit will also be relaxation for 05 years and for 3 years in respect of candidates belonging to the SC/ST and OBC-A/OBC-B category of West Bengal respectively as per existing Government Rules.
Selection Procedure: Recruitment will be made through “Limited Departmental Examination” to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board on the basis of Written Examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test and Personality Test.
Application Fee: All categories of candidates except those belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe of West Bengal shall pay Applications Fees of Rs. 150/- (Rupees one hundred fifty) only. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe are exempted from paying any Application Fees. However, shortlisted candidates are required to produce their SC/ST certificates issued by the competent authority at the time of interview.
